Simple Clogged Drain Fix

The simple things that make me happy. We’ve been having problems with our garbage disposal clogging up. It was just replaced and the water still was going down real slow.

I had read a long time ago that baking soda and vinegar would clear it up and I tried it the last time we had a clogged kitchen drain. It had worked when I used baking soda and vinegar so I thought it would again. But, it didn’t. And I found that using baking soda and vinegar is just a myth and that it only creates more sludge in the drains. I wanted to avoid getting the chemical stuff like Drano and did a search online to see if I could find other ways to unclog a drain. I found a site that recommended using a plunger (while plugging up the other sink if you have a double sink) so I made a trip to the store and got a plunger to keep for the kitchen sink.

I enlisted the help of my hubby to plunge the sink as I didn’t have the strength needed to force the clog to unclog. After a minute of plunging, it worked! Such a dumb thing to get excited over but it did.

So if you get a clogged drain, don’t use baking soda and vinegar, but do use a clean plunger!
