Power outage

The power went out last night, AGAIN! Sigh! It went out at 9:30 pm and didn’t come back on until after 9 this morning! It’s been This is the 3rd or 4th time this year already! My hubby’s cousin (who lives next door to us) says it happens a lot more in the summer time. Oh boy! Not looking forward to that! If it happens this often now, how often will it be during the summer?

Hubby says things are way better now than when he lived here as a kid. He said the power went out way more than it does now.

We need to buy one of those portable tabletop single propane gas burners for times of power outage so we can cook. We also need to get a cooler and keep a bag of ice in the freezer so we can keep the really perishable items cold.

Youtube Career?

I’m amazed that there’s someone making millions on youtube by posting videos of herself opening up toys, showing what’s in the packages, and playing with them! I’ve seen the videos, because my little girls are enthralled with those videos. I just didn’t realized that the creator of those videos was making millions off of them! It makes sense though, because kids (like mine) can easily get sucked into watching them, and they can watch them for hours, if allowed!

Who would’ve thought one could make a living from doing that! Kudos to that woman!!

I’m amazed at all the young girls (they look like tweens and young teens) with their own youtube channels making product hauls and makeup videos, etc.

I’ve been thinking of making videos of my favorite things to cook and bake.

Makeup Help

Ok, any makeup experts out there that can help me and not laugh at me? As I’ve mentioned in my previous post, I’m more serious about makeup now, whereas before, I just had one or 2 basic drugstore eyeshadows, blush, and powder and no tools except for an eyeshadow and kabuki brush. I’m now seeing a ton of different types of brushes and tools and products that makeup gurus use to create the different looks. It’s overwhelming! I didn’t know about eyeshadow primer and all the different brushes used just for eyeshadow!

I need some help figuring out what are the must have tools and makeup for someone on a tight budget! Seems like eyeshadow primer is not an absolute must but good to have to help eyeshadow stay on longer and make the color more intense.  What brands are good? What about natural makeup without the harmful ingredients?

I’m getting my first Ipsy bag and got a Luxie Beauty large angled face brush so that’s one tool to start with! Now I just have to wait for my friend to forward it to me once it arrives at her house! 🙂

Would love some advice! 🙂

  • I remember when I first found Youtube beauty videos. I was new to makeup as well and the amount of information was overwhelming, but it is what taught me a lot of what I know. I would say for starting out, just keep it simple. If you buy a ton of makeup, you’ll soon realize that you only wear a small portion of it daily, and the rest will just be sitting in your drawer taking up space, not being used. Can you tell I’ve done that? lol. Drugstore makeup is usually pretty economical, all though there are some companies online that have good prices, too. Try BH Cosmetics. That’s where I started. I bought a palette with a bunch of colors so I would have a variety to choose from without breaking the bank. Hope that helps 🙂

  • You can start with a good foundation brush and a good eyeshadow brush. Those are the bare minimum essentials. Just work your way up from there when you want to start doing more. As you start experimenting more, you’ll figure out what you like. The biggest thing to remember is to not go out and buy a bunch of stuff at once. Try a few things and figure out how to use those, then add a few more. That way you know you will love what you have and won’t be too overwhelming.
